During his six months in the desert, Abbey deepens his connection to the landscape, discovers spiritual truths in the desert’s various rock formations, and thinks hard about the effects of solitude. Almost entirely alone in his park ranger duties, Abbey dominates the memoir, so readers get to know his feelings on everything from cactus flowers and ants to world religion and international politics. A hot-headed and opinionated outdoorsman, Abbey has a deep spiritual bond with nature and detests industrial tourism. He’s a 40-year-old American writer looking back on the summer he spent 10 years ago, in 1956, as a park ranger in Arches National Monument, a desert national park in Utah. Perhaps it could even be implemented so that all backgrounds are available regardless of the day/night mode, a switch exists for the card front, but the night mode switch remains available too.Abbey is the author and protagonist of Desert Solitaire. Given the OLED display of the newer iPhones, I know the darker backgrounds of night mode are also better for battery life so I’d love to be able to compromise a little and have a darker background with the white card front, whether that be by adding darker backgrounds to day mode or by allowing the card front color to change separately. The night mode feature is super useful, and I love the dark backgrounds it includes, but I prefer the white card front color for my normal game play. One other feature I’d like to see added: darker colored backgrounds for day mode and/or the ability to switch the card front color separately from day/night mode. The 2.0 update with newer device support is very much appreciated! I’m excited to be able to play this game again with it taking full advantage of the new screen sizes!
